Managing Eczema in Humid Weather

The Climate Challenge

In humid Nigerian climates, sweating can severely trigger eczema (Atopic Dermatitis). Sweat acts as an irritant to a compromised skin barrier.

Cooling and Cleansing

Take lukewarm (never hot) showers and use soap-free, gentle cleansers. Immediately apply a ceramide-rich moisturizer while your skin is still damp to lock in hydration.

Medical Management

Over-the-counter hydrocortisone might work for mild flares, but persistent eczema requires a clinical assessment for prescription topicals or oral medication.
